In the Face of Rising Hate, We Move Forward
A message from the board and staff of Georgia Muslim Voter Project
For ten years, Georgia Muslim Voter Project has been proud to move our Ummah Forward together. Every day, we register voters, engage young people, educate communities, and uplift Muslim voices across our state.
This work has never been done in a vacuum. Even as we reach more members of our beloved community, we have faced hatred—online, in person, and in the legislature. This is a reality for so many Muslims here in Georgia and around the world.
Most of our young staff have only known a post-9/11 world, where our very existence is met with suspicion, ridicule, or contempt. And yet, we move forward, working toward a day when our voices are heard and respected equally alongside those of our neighbors.
Recent weeks—recent months, even—have tested our resolve. Islamophobia has never gone away in this country, but we are witnessing an alarming resurgence as Election Day 2026 approaches.
Across the nation, our masjids face protests before they are even built. Our prayers are interrupted. Our leaders are threatened. Our faith is mocked.
Here at GAMVP, in just the last few months, we have seen an increase in direct and indirect threats to our work, our staff, and our very existence. Local and national bad actors who seek to build their names through hate have tried to turn our name and our growth into a lightning rod for white supremacy and Christian nationalism.
They fear our voices. They fear our votes. They fear our growing power.
They will not silence us.
They will not stop our work.
We may be forced to relocate an event or strengthen our security. We may need to adjust how we conduct our outreach, but we will not stop showing up.
We take every precaution, and we place our trust in Allah, who is sufficient for us and the best of protectors. We meet this moment with sabr—patient, steadfast, and unshaken.
While their hate grows louder, our work grows stronger.
For ten years, we have grown because of the most dedicated—and honestly, the best—staff, board, donors, and community we could ever ask for. And, inshallah, we will continue to grow together, no matter the pressures we face.
Our faith teaches us that when one part of the body is in pain, the whole body responds. That is why we ask you to join us.
Stand with us against hate. Stand with us for a Georgia where Muslim communities can worship, organize, vote, and live without fear.

Report threats. If you see threatening content online, document it by saving screenshots and links, then report it to the platform. If you feel comfortable, report it to local law enforcement so it can be investigated.
We never expected this work to be easy. But the love and power of our community carry us forward every day.
With gratitude and strength,
The board and staff of Georgia Muslim Voter Project
